Start Here
Begin by clearing Broodals Over the Lake. That unlocks several follow-up moons and makes Lake Lamode easier to clean up. After the story moon, sweep the underwater Water Plaza area, then handle the side rooms and outfit requirements. Save Moon Rock moons, post-game fashion requests, Peach, taxi and Master Cup for later.
Lake Kingdom Power Moon Guide: All 42 Moons
Use this as a route checklist. Each moon below gives the main location, the required action and a practical tip so you can move through Lake Lamode without losing track of post-game and Moon Rock requirements.
Broodals Over the Lake
Follow the story route up to the Water Plaza Terrace and fight Rango. Keep moving when he throws his hat, jump onto the flattened hat when it is safe, and stomp him three times. After the fight, collect the Multi Moon that appears on the terrace.
Dorrie-Back Rider
Swim into the main underwater Water Plaza area and look for Dorrie circling the lake. The moon is sitting on Dorrie’s back. Surface near Dorrie, climb or jump onto the back, and grab the moon before Dorrie swims away.
Cheep Cheep Crossing
Start from the Underwater Entrance checkpoint and capture a Cheep Cheep. Swim to the small alcove above the entrance area and pass through the tight opening. The moon is tucked inside the alcove beyond the crossing.
End of the Hidden Passage
From the Courtyard, use the bouncy flower to reach the higher ledge with a zipper. Capture the zipper and pull it across the wall to open the hidden route. Follow the newly revealed passage to the moon at the end.
What’s in the Box?
Go to the top section of Water Plaza and find the small grassy ledge with three crates. Break the shiny crate instead of the normal ones. The Power Moon pops out as soon as the correct crate is destroyed.
On the Lakeshore
Return to the sandy area near the Odyssey and look for the glowing spot on the ground. Stand directly on it and ground pound to reveal the moon. This is one of the fastest early cleanup moons in Lake Kingdom.
From the Broken Pillar
Swim near the Water Plaza Entrance and find the broken stone pillar below the water. Land on the flat top of the broken section and ground pound it. The moon appears from the pillar remains.
Treasure in the Spiky Waterway
Enter the spiky waterway near the start of the kingdom and move carefully through the split path. Take the route that leads to the hidden treasure chest instead of only following the exit. Open the chest to collect the moon.
Lake Gardening: Spiky Passage Seed
Pick up the seed near the beginning of the spiky tunnel and carry it back to the flower pot at the Water Plaza Entrance. Plant the seed and return after it has grown. When the flower blooms, collect the moon from the pot.
Lake Kingdom Timer Challenge 1
From the Underwater Entrance, swim to the surface platform with the scarecrow. Throw Cappy onto the scarecrow, then dive straight down toward the temporary blocks and moon. Move quickly before the timer expires.
Lake Kingdom Timer Challenge 2
Go to the Water Plaza Terrace and find the scarecrow. Throw Cappy onto it to make temporary blocks appear. Use backflips and wall movement to climb the blocks quickly and grab the moon at the top.
Moon Shards in the Lake
Search the large lake outside Water Plaza for five Moon Shards. Swim in a wide loop around the underwater structures, checking behind walls, near pillars, and around the open lake floor. The moon appears after the fifth shard.
Taking Notes: Dive and Swim
Find the treble clef in the small water area near the Odyssey. Touch it to spawn the notes, then swim through them in one continuous route before the timer runs out. Stay low and turn smoothly.
Taking Notes: In the Cliffside
From the Underwater Entrance, swim up and enter the 8-bit pipe along the left cliff wall. Hit the treble clef inside the 2D section and collect all notes before they disappear. Follow the note path without hesitation.
Lake Fishing
Near the Courtyard, capture Lakitu and fish in the small pool. Wait for the large Cheep Cheep shadow, then pull when the bite is strong. Landing the big fish rewards the Power Moon.
I Met a Lake Cheep Cheep!
Capture a Cheep Cheep near the Underwater Entrance and swim up to the Lochlady near the surface. Approach her while still captured as the Cheep Cheep. She rewards you when you bring the fish close enough.
Our Secret Little Room
At the Water Plaza Entrance, inspect the wall alcoves and enter the hidden room in the third alcove. Talk to the Lochlady inside. She gives you the moon for finding the secret room.
Let’s Go Swimming, Captain Toad!
Capture a Cheep Cheep and dive into the deep pit at the Water Plaza Entrance. Swim all the way to the bottom where Captain Toad is waiting. Talk to him to receive the moon.
Shopping in Lake Lamode
Visit the Crazy Cap shop near Water Plaza and buy the Power Moon for 100 gold coins. This moon is available from the shop list once you can access the store.
A Successful Repair Job
Enter the puzzle room near Water Plaza after the Broodals story moon. Inside, solve the block-repair puzzle by placing the missing piece into the correct position. When the repair is complete, the moon appears.
I Feel Underdressed
Wear the Swimwear outfit with Swim Goggles, or another accepted outfit, and talk to the Lochlady guarding the display room. Enter the room and throw Cappy onto the dress pedestal until the hidden moon appears.
Unzip the Chasm
Find the submerged zipper on the right wall near the Water Plaza Entrance. Capture it and unzip the wall to reveal a hidden door. Enter the challenge area and reach the end to collect the moon.
Super-Secret Zipper
Inside the Unzip the Chasm challenge, look for the hidden block route near the beginning. Use it to reach the secret zipper path, unzip the hidden section, and collect the second moon in the area.
Jump, Grab, Cling, and Climb
At Water Plaza Terrace, find the hidden door along the northern wall. Enter the challenge room and use the ledges, poles, and climbing sections to reach the end. The moon waits at the final platform.
Jump, Grab, and Climb Some More
In the same climbing challenge, ride the final moving block up to the hidden bouncy flower. Use it to launch to the treasure chest route and open the chest for the secret moon.
Secret Path to Lake Lamode!
Reach Lake Kingdom through the correct kingdom painting route for your save file. The painting drops you onto the Viewing Balcony above Lake Lamode. Collect the moon there before leaving the balcony.
Found with Lake Kingdom Art
Inspect the hint art near the stairs by the Odyssey. It points to a dinosaur-bone location in Cascade Kingdom. Travel to Cascade, stand on the matching spot, and ground pound to reveal the moon.
Taxi Flying Through Lake Lamode
After the main story, use the binoculars near the Odyssey and scan the sky above Lake Lamode. Find the flying taxi and keep it centered in view until the moon appears.
That Trendy Pirate Look
After the main story, talk to the Style Sisters at the top of Water Plaza while wearing the Pirate Hat and Pirate Outfit. The correct sister rewards you for the outfit theme.
Space Is In Right Now
Wear the Space Helmet and Spacesuit, or the accepted space-themed alternative, and speak with the Style Sister asking for a space look. She gives the moon once the full outfit matches.
That Old West Style
Wear the Cowboy Hat and Cowboy Outfit from Sand Kingdom and talk to the Style Sister who wants an Old West look. If both pieces are equipped, she rewards the moon.
Lake Kingdom Regular Cup
After the main story, talk to the Koopa near the start and enter the freerunning race. Use clean jumps, direct swimming lines, and the fastest route to beat the regular racers.
Peach in the Lake Kingdom
After Peach begins traveling, return to the Water Plaza Terrace where the Rango fight happened. Talk to Peach and Tiara on the terrace to receive the moon.
Behind the Floodgate
After breaking the Moon Rock, go north of the Odyssey and unzip the upper floodgate section. Drop into the newly opened space behind it and collect the moon.
High-Flying Leap
Use the Hat Trampoline along the southeast cliff near Water Plaza. Bounce high and angle Mario toward the moon floating above the water. Correct your landing with Cappy if needed.
Deep, Deep Down
Capture a Cheep Cheep and dive back into the deep Water Plaza Entrance chamber. Swim to the lowest section near Captain Toad’s campsite and grab the moon in the depths.
Rooftop of the Water Plaza
Reach the Water Plaza rooftop and find the northeast column platform. Ground pound the marked or suspicious spot on the rooftop structure to reveal the hidden moon.
Bird Traveling Over the Lake
After the Moon Rock, watch for the glowing bird flying around the eastern part of the kingdom. Intercept it along its path, touch it, and collect the moon it drops.
Love by the Lake
Capture a Goomba in the Courtyard and carefully carry the stack across to Goombette behind the Odyssey. Avoid deep water, because falling in breaks the capture. Reach Goombette to receive the moon.
Lake Kingdom Master Cup
After the Moon Rock and Regular Cup, enter the harder Koopa race. Use sharper routing and cleaner movement to beat the faster racers. The moon is awarded for first place.
Waves of Poison: Hoppin’ Over
Enter the Moon Pipe near the Odyssey after breaking the Moon Rock. Capture the frog in the poison-wave challenge and hop across the platforms while timing jumps over the moving poison. Reach the main moon at the end.
Waves of Poison: Hop to It!
In the same poison-wave challenge, take the side route to the left and collect the key on the distant platform. Return safely to unlock and collect the second moon in the area.
