Quick Overview
Snow Kingdom has 50 snowflake-shaped regional coins across the surface, Shiveria Town, four barrier rooms and the Snowline Circuit waiting room. Finish the Bound Bowl Grand Prix first so the surface blizzard clears, then use this route to clean up without repeating rooms.
Route Map
Start with the cleared surface, then revisit Shiveria’s barrier rooms in pairs and finish in the racing area. Every block starts from the nearest checkpoint or recognizable landmark and includes the mistake that most often hides the cluster.
Odyssey Landing and Southern Ice Wall
Clear the Snow Kingdom story first so the surface blizzard is gone, then sweep the landing area. These three groups sit behind the Odyssey, inside the outer ice wall and on a deceptive lower cliff.
Purple Coins #1-2 – Behind the Odyssey
- Warp to the Odyssey checkpoint and stand on the landing deck facing the ship.
- Walk around the stern instead of following the main path toward the ice well.
- Collect the two snowflake coins on the snowbank directly behind the Odyssey.
- Common miss: leaving from the front of the ship and never checking its rear edge.

Purple Coins #3-6 – Southern Wall Icicle Passage
- Start at the Odyssey and use the map to identify the outer wall along the southern edge of the surface.
- Follow that boundary until a row of icicles and packed snow hides a shallow passage through the wall.
- Clear the obstruction with Cappy, enter the recess and run through all four coins.
- Common miss: searching the open snowfield; the coins are inside the wall passage, not beside it.

Purple Coins #7-8 – Lower Cliff Below the Odyssey
- Return to the Odyssey and move to the cliff edge below the landing area.
- Tilt the camera down until the narrow snowy shelf far below the ship becomes visible.
- Drop from ledge to ledge, collect both coins on the lower shelf and warp back when finished.
- Common miss: assuming the drop is bottomless and never checking below the main landing platform.

Above the Ice Well and Shiveria Entrance
Use Above the Ice Well and Shiveria Town to clean up the frozen pool, the lower ledge beside the well and the raised platform near the town exit pipe.
Purple Coins #9-11 – Northern Freezing Water
- Warp to Above the Ice Well and face north, away from the well, toward the small freezing pool.
- Capture a Cheep Cheep before diving so Mario is not forced out by cold-water damage.
- Swim through the three coins under the surface, then return to open water before releasing the capture.
- Common miss: entering as Mario, taking damage and retreating before reaching the complete coin line.

Purple Coins #12-13 – West Ledge by the Ice Well
- Stay at Above the Ice Well and turn left toward the western rim of the surface.
- Look over the edge for a lower platform tucked just beneath the upper snowbank.
- Drop carefully to the shelf and collect the two coins before climbing or warping back.
- Common miss: circling the top of the well while the coins remain hidden below the rim.

Purple Coins #14-17 – Shiveria Exit Pipe Platform
- Warp to Shiveria Town and return to the green exit pipe at the wall where Mario first entered town.
- Face the pipe, then look to its right for the raised platform above the arrival area.
- Use the nearby wall and a cap-assisted jump to reach the platform and collect all four coins.
- Common miss: heading straight for the four barrier doors without checking behind the town entrance.

Wind-Chill Cavern and Snowy Mountain
Return to Shiveria Town and revisit two barrier rooms. Wind-Chill Cavern hides coins over poison, while Snowy Mountain rewards players who leave the obvious vertical route.
Purple Coins #18-20 – Wind-Chill Cavern First Poison Gap
- Start at Shiveria Town and enter the barrier door that leads to Wind-Chill Cavern.
- Progress to the first broad poison-water gap with a Ty-foo and stop before taking the direct safe line.
- Capture the Ty-foo, hover through the three coins above the poison and land on the next solid platform.
- Common miss: steering directly between platforms and passing underneath the elevated coin arc.

Purple Coins #21-24 – Wind-Chill Cavern Final Ty-foo Route
- Continue through Wind-Chill Cavern until the last Ty-foo and the exit side of the room are visible.
- Turn the camera across the poison before moving to the exit platform.
- Capture the final Ty-foo and guide it through the four-coin line over the hazardous water.
- Common miss: releasing the last Ty-foo as soon as the exit appears and leaving four coins behind.

Purple Coins #25-27 – Snowy Mountain First Updraft
- Return to Shiveria Town and enter the Snowy Mountain barrier room.
- Ride the first strong updraft and turn the camera left as Mario rises.
- Drift onto the side ledge at the top of the gust and collect the three coins there.
- Common miss: following the updraft straight upward and landing on the obvious central route.

Purple Coins #28-30 – Behind Snowy Mountain Gap
- Continue climbing Snowy Mountain toward the area used for the Behind Snowy Mountain Power Moon.
- Find the narrow gap behind the main route and look down before jumping across it.
- Drop into the opening; it has a safe floor with three coins rather than a bottomless fall.
- Common miss: treating every dark gap as a death pit and never testing this hidden lower pocket.

Hollow Crevasse and Icicle Cavern
The remaining barrier rooms use Bitefrost launches, wall jumps and a tall Goomba stack. Slow down near the upper shadows because every cluster is above or beside the normal story path.
Purple Coins #31-33 – Hollow Crevasse Southwest Corner
- From Shiveria Town, enter Hollow Crevasse and turn left as soon as the room opens.
- Move into the southwest corner and watch the spinning coin shadows above the snow.
- Wait for the hidden Bitefrost to rise, use it as a launch point and jump through the three coins.
- Common miss: crossing the corner while the Bitefrost is retracted and assuming the shadows mark normal coins.

Purple Coins #34-36 – Hollow Crevasse Ice Wall Stairs
- Continue along the main Hollow Crevasse route toward the final stairs and the Ice Wall Barrier Moon.
- Stop near the second Bitefrost launch instead of walking straight up the stairs.
- Ride the enemy upward and jump through the three coins floating above the stair approach.
- Common miss: staying on the ground-level staircase, where the raised coins sit outside the normal camera view.

Purple Coins #37-40 – Icicle Cavern Wall-Jump Shaft
- Enter Icicle Cavern from Shiveria Town and climb until the upper part of the room opens.
- Use the spinning shadows to locate the narrow vertical space beneath the four high coins.
- Wall-jump between the close ice walls and pass through the full four-coin line.
- Common miss: trying to use the Goomba stack for both upper groups instead of checking the separate wall-jump shaft.

Purple Coins #41-43 – Icicle Cavern Goomba Stack
- Stay in Icicle Cavern and capture the Goombas along the route, building a stack of at least six or seven.
- Walk the complete stack onto the giant icicle platform near the top of the cavern.
- Align beneath the three suspended coins and jump with the tall stack to collect them.
- Common miss: arriving with a short stack or abandoning the Goombas before reaching the giant icicle.

Snowline Circuit Waiting Room
Finish below Shiveria Town in the Snowline Circuit waiting room. Both clusters are available before the race begins, but the last four require a captured Shiverian racer.
Purple Coins #44-46 – Waiting Room Right-Hand Snowbank
- Warp to Snowline Circuit; if the flag is unavailable, drop through the central barrier hole in Shiveria Town.
- Enter the changing room and go to the far-right side before capturing the Shiverian racer.
- Push through the pile of snow to reveal and collect the three hidden coins.
- Common miss: capturing the racer immediately and rolling toward the circuit without clearing the right wall.

Purple Coins #47-50 – Shiverian Bound Ramp
- Remain in the Snowline Circuit waiting room and capture the available Shiverian racer.
- Turn toward the raised ramp along the room wall rather than entering the race tunnel.
- Use repeated Bound jumps to climb the ramp and pass through all four coins.
- Common miss: attempting the ramp as Mario or leaving the room as soon as the Grand Prix becomes available.

FAQ
How many purple coins are in Snow Kingdom?
Snow Kingdom has 50 regional coins. This guide includes every coin exactly once across 16 route-based clusters.
What do Snow Kingdom purple coins look like?
They are purple, snowflake-shaped regional coins used only in Snow Kingdom.
Should I finish the Snow Kingdom story before collecting every coin?
Yes. Coins inside the barrier rooms are available during the story, but the surface is much easier to search after winning the Bound Bowl Grand Prix and clearing the blizzard.
Which Snow Kingdom purple coins are easiest to miss?
The lower cliff below the Odyssey, the southern icicle passage, the freezing-water set, the two high Icicle Cavern groups and both waiting-room clusters are the most common misses.
Do I need a Goomba stack for any Snow Kingdom purple coins?
Yes. Bring a stack of at least six or seven Goombas to the giant icicle near the top of Icicle Cavern to reach the three suspended coins.
Do I need to capture a Shiverian racer?
Yes. The final four coins in the Snowline Circuit waiting room sit on a ramp designed for the Shiverian’s Bound move.
Do Snow Kingdom purple coins respawn?
No. Every collected regional coin stays collected on that save file and permanently increases the Snow Kingdom total.
