Use these grouped links to move through the city in a clean cleanup order. Each route block below starts from the nearest checkpoint or landmark and includes the common mistake that usually causes players to miss the cluster.

Odyssey Landing and Main Street Entrance

Start with the arrival route into New Donk City. These first coins sit on the Odyssey girders and just off the Main Street Entrance, so clear them before riding deeper into the city.

Purple Coins #1-3 – Odyssey Girder Approach

  1. Start at the Odyssey landing spot and face the red girders leading toward New Donk City.
  2. Cross the girder path before capturing the spark pylon that carries Mario into the city.
  3. Line up a careful jump or long jump across the steel beams and collect the three coins on the approach.
  4. Common miss: riding the spark pylon too early and never checking the girder beside the Odyssey.

FAQ

How many purple coins are in Metro Kingdom?

Metro Kingdom has 100 purple regional coins. This guide covers all 100 once, across 36 route-based clusters.

Can I collect every Metro Kingdom purple coin before finishing the story?

Some coins are much easier after the city story opens more routes, and the Underground Power Plant access depends on story progress. For full cleanup, return after the musicians and city restoration steps are available.

Which Metro Kingdom purple coins are easiest to miss?

The fire escape coins, the ledges below City Hall Rooftop, the under-building garbage rooftop coins, the second scooter-room set and the lower sewer platform are the most common misses.

Do I need to replay the Motor Scooter: Escape! room?

You might. The scooter challenge has one coin cluster on the right lane and another near the center path, so replay it if you missed either line during the T-Rex chase.

Where is the Underground Power Plant entrance?

After the story moves the taxi, capture the manhole cover near Outdoor Cafe and drop into the sewer route. The final two clusters are on the way toward the Underground Power Plant.

What are Metro Kingdom purple coins used for?

They are New Donk City regional currency for the Metro Kingdom Crazy Cap shop, including local souvenirs, stickers and outfits.

Do purple coins respawn after collection?

No. Once a Metro Kingdom purple coin is collected, it stays collected on that save file and counts toward the kingdom total permanently.
