How to Beat Mechawiggler
Mechawiggler is the boss of Wooded Kingdom in Super Mario Odyssey. This giant mechanical caterpillar fires homing bullets and can be tricky for first-time players.

Boss Location
Mechawiggler is found in the elevated arena at the top of Steam Gardens. You must complete the main story path through the kingdom to reach it.
Recommended Preparation
- Have at least 3 health segments
- Know how to use Bullet Bill captures
Attack Patterns
- Bullet Barrage: Fires three tracking bullets at Mario
- Body Slam: Charges across the arena
- Segment Explosion: Later segments fire rapid bullets
Phase 1 Strategy
Capture a nearby Bullet Bill and steer it directly into Mechawiggler’s glowing orange segments. Each hit destroys one segment. Avoid the boss’s own bullets by weaving left and right.
Phase 2 Strategy
After destroying half the segments, Mechawiggler speeds up and fires more bullets. Stay calm and aim Bullet Bills carefully at remaining segments.
