Last To Leave is one of the most luck-dependent trophies in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. You need a random Burning Ship event that contains a single usable chair, then sit down before the event expires. This guide shows the exact event icon, the best Black Trench reload route and the mistakes that can trigger a long event cooldown.
Quick Overview
| Trophy | Last To Leave |
|---|---|
| Grade | Silver / Hidden Trophy |
| Requirement | Take a seat on a Burning Ship. |
| Missable? | No. Burning Ship events can still appear in free roam after the story. |
| Best farm | Manual save at Great Inagua, then repeatedly fast travel to The Black Trench at (184, 425). |
| Required progress | The Black Trench becomes available after Sequence 6, Mission 1: Diving for Medicines. |
| Main difficulty | Both the event spawn and the chair variant are random. |
What Counts as a Burning Ship?
The trophy does not work on a normal enemy ship that you damage, set on fire or board after combat. It needs the dedicated timed side activity.
- A white Burning Ship icon appears when you are close enough.
- The deck contains lootable chests and an event timer.
- No naval battle is required.
- Most Burning Ships do not contain a chair.
- The chair has an interaction prompt when Edward approaches.
- Sitting down unlocks the trophy immediately.
- Do not attack random ships hoping to create the event.
- Boarding a defeated enemy ship cannot create the required chair.
- Looting every chest is optional for the trophy.
How to Identify the Correct Event
Check the map label first, then use the Spyglass before sailing over. The chair can often be spotted from a distance, saving a slow boarding attempt.
- The event is marked by a white ship-and-flame style icon, not a normal enemy ship marker.
- Once active, the event has a short timer of roughly five minutes before it disappears.
- Burning Ship events can use different ship classes. The chair is not restricted to one class, although community testing reports it more often on Brigs.
- If you see only loot and no chair around the central deck, reload immediately instead of completing the event.
Fastest Black Trench Farm
This loop forces the nearby random events to regenerate. It is much faster than sailing the full Caribbean and hoping a Burning Ship appears naturally.
- Unlock The Black Trench. Progress through Sequence 6, Mission 1: Diving for Medicines, so the shipwreck becomes a fast-travel point.
- Return to Great Inagua manor. Stand at the manor around (826, 444) and create a fresh manual save.
- Fast travel to The Black Trench. Select the shipwreck at (184, 425) in the Castillo de Jagua region.
- Scan immediately. Use the Spyglass as soon as the Jackdaw loads in and sweep the nearby sea for the white Burning Ship icon.
- No event? Reload the Great Inagua manual save, fast travel again and repeat the scan.
- Event but no chair? Inspect the middle deck with the Spyglass. If the chair is missing, reload without looting or finishing the event.
- Chair found? Sail alongside, stop close enough to jump over, approach the chair and use the interaction prompt to sit.
RNG, Odds and the Hidden Cooldown
The route is repeatable, but it is never guaranteed. Reported percentages are community estimates and should only be used to understand why several failed loops are normal.
- PowerPyx estimates roughly a 20% chance for a Burning Ship to appear during a Black Trench reload loop.
- It estimates that only around 5% of Burning Ship events contain the required chair.
- Those two random checks can produce a quick unlock or a long dry streak. Neither result means your save is broken.
- Completing a Burning Ship event by looting it and letting it sink may trigger a hidden cooldown that blocks another event for several hours of playtime.
- During focused farming, reload a no-chair event before completing it. This preserves the clean Great Inagua save and avoids deliberately starting that cooldown.
What to Do When the Chair Spawns
Do not spend the timer clearing every chest first. Secure the trophy, then use the remaining time for loot.
- Confirm the lone wooden chair near the middle of the deck with the Spyglass.
- Bring the Jackdaw alongside without ramming the Burning Ship.
- Leave the helm and jump directly onto the deck.
- Move close to the chair until the sit interaction appears.
- Interact and remain seated until the trophy notification appears.
Alternative Burning Ship Search Area
If The Black Trench appears to be on cooldown, continue normal play or try the open water around (290, 391), near the diving bell and harpoon markers. Mobalytics reports regular Burning Ship sightings in that area, but the event and chair remain random.
- Use this as a fallback location, not a guaranteed spawn.
- Keep checking every white Burning Ship event encountered during story and collectible travel.
- Do not complete no-chair events during a focused farming session.
- If neither route produces events after repeated attempts, leave the area, play other content and return later.
Last To Leave Troubleshooting
Most problems come from using the wrong ship type, an active cooldown or missing the chair interaction while the timer runs.
| Problem | Likely Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| No Burning Ship appears | Normal RNG or an event cooldown | Reload the Great Inagua save and repeat. If you recently finished an event, play other content before returning. |
| The ship has no chair | You found the common event variant | Do not complete it. Reload and regenerate the event list. |
| The ship I burned does not count | It is a normal combat ship | Find the separately marked timed Burning Ship side activity. |
| I cannot sit down | Wrong deck object or poor interaction angle | Move around the lone central chair and face it directly until the prompt appears. |
| The event disappears | The timer expired | Inspect with the Spyglass first, approach immediately and sit before looting chests. |
| The trophy does not pop | Edward did not complete the sit interaction | Remain seated for the full interaction. If needed, reload the clean save and find another chair event. |

Last To Leave FAQ
Is Last To Leave missable?
No. Burning Ship events remain available in free roam, although their appearance is random.
Can I set a normal ship on fire and sit on it?
No. The trophy needs the dedicated timed Burning Ship side activity, which is already burning when it appears.
Where is the best place to farm a Burning Ship?
Use The Black Trench fast-travel point at (184, 425) in Castillo de Jagua after making a manual save at Great Inagua manor.
Does every Burning Ship have a chair?
No. Most do not. Inspect the middle deck with the Spyglass and reload immediately when the chair is missing.
Do I need to loot all chests first?
No. Sit on the chair first so the timer cannot cost you the trophy. The chests are optional.
Why did Burning Ships stop spawning?
Completing a Burning Ship event may trigger a hidden cooldown. Continue other content for a while, then return to a clean Great Inagua save and restart the Black Trench loop.
