Blow the Man Down is a Silver trophy in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced for shooting down all three hanging bodies in Long Bay. One body hangs beside the wooden viewpoint tower and the other two are close together above the jungle trail. Unlock Long Bay Before Starting
Long Bay is story-gated. You first reach the island during Sequence 10, Memory 3, The Observatory. After that visit, the island stays on the world map and can be cleaned up at any time in free roam.
- Progress until The Observatory.
- Visit Long Bay as part of the story.
- Return later by fast travel if preferred.
- Only three accurate shots are required.
- Stand close enough for the reticle to turn red.
- Aim at each body’s head, not the surrounding branch.
- The tower body is directly beside the fast-travel point.
- The other two share the same short jungle trail.
- Keep looking above eye level while walking.
Important: use the pistol and shoot each body in the head from close range. Do not rely on cutting the rope or using a rope dart; the confirmed trophy method is a red-reticle pistol shot that makes the body fall.
Long Bay Location and Fast Travel
Long Bay sits in the Charlotte region around (498, 226). Some route overlays show (505, 232) for the synchronized viewpoint itself. Select the named Long Bay island and fast travel to its tower.
- If fast travel is unavailable: synchronize the wooden tower during or after your first story visit.
- If Long Bay is missing: continue the main story until Sequence 10, Memory 3.
- Do not confuse the trophy with a shanty: this objective only concerns the three bodies on the island.
Fast Route to All Three Hanging Bodies
The cleanest order begins at the viewpoint and finishes on the jungle path. The second and third bodies are only a few steps apart, so do not keep running after finding number two.
- Fast travel to the Long Bay viewpoint. Before climbing down, look beside and just below the wooden synchronization structure.
- Shoot Body 1 at the tower. Move close, equip the pistol and aim at the head until the reticle turns red. Fire once and confirm the body falls.
- Drop to the beach below. Enter the shallow water if needed, cross toward the huts and follow the main sandy route inland.
- Take the short jungle path under the fallen trees. Slow down as the trail narrows and look upward rather than straight ahead.
- Shoot Body 2 above the path. It hangs from a low branch in the shaded section. Use the red head reticle again.
- Walk only a few steps farther. Body 3 hangs from the next branch in the same corridor and can be easy to mistake for the body you just dropped.
- Shoot Body 3 in the head. The trophy unlocks as soon as the last body falls.
Hanging Body 1: Viewpoint Tower
The first target is the most visible one. It hangs from the upper wooden structure beside the Long Bay synchronization tower, directly below the fast-travel starting area.
- Look outward from the tower rather than toward the jungle.
- Climb down until Edward has a clean pistol angle.
- Center the reticle on the head and wait for it to turn red.
- Confirm the body drops before leaving for the beach.
Hanging Body 2: First Jungle Branch
After leaving the tower, cross the beach and follow the sandy trail into the vegetation. The second body hangs above the narrow path near a large fallen tree.
- Stop when the beach trail narrows between the trees and rocks.
- Look up toward the branch crossing the path.
- Move closer if the reticle stays white.
- Shoot the head only after the aiming reticle turns red.
Hanging Body 3: Next Branch Along the Path
The final body is roughly a few metres beyond Body 2 in the same jungle corridor. Stay on the trail and scan the next overhead branch instead of continuing deep into the island.
- Walk forward only a few steps after Body 2 falls.
- Look up through the leaves toward the next thick branch.
- Aim at the head until the reticle is red, then fire.
- The Silver trophy should register immediately after this body drops.
Reliable Pistol and Aiming Tips
The bodies are environmental targets rather than enemies. The safest method is to treat each shot like a short-range precision check.
- Do not waste ammunition from long range.
- Reposition until leaves no longer block the head.
- The red reticle confirms a valid target.
- Keep the pistol reticle on the head.
- Do not aim at the tree branch or surrounding rope.
- Wait for a clear red lock before firing.
- Do not leave immediately after the gunshot.
- Confirm the body reaches the ground.
- Resweep the route if the trophy stays locked.
Blow the Man Down Troubleshooting
If the trophy does not unlock, one of the three bodies usually remains hanging. Start over at the tower and verify every target in order.
| Problem | Likely Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Long Bay is not accessible | The story gate is still active | Reach Sequence 10, Memory 3, The Observatory, and visit the island through the story. |
| The tower body will not fall | The shot is hitting the structure or rope | Climb lower, move closer and shoot the head only when the reticle turns red. |
| Only two bodies are visible | One jungle target was overlooked | From Body 2, walk only a few steps farther and scan the next overhead branch. |
| The pistol reticle stays white | You are too far away or foliage blocks the shot | Move directly beneath the body and adjust sideways until the head is clear. |
| The trophy does not unlock after three shots | At least one body did not actually drop | Return to the tower and confirm each body is on the ground before moving to the next. |
| You were searching for a song sheet | The trophy name was confused with the shanty | Ignore shanty collectibles; all three required targets are hanging bodies in Long Bay. |
